The Nigerien Ministry of Defense says that more than 280 members of Boko Haram have been killed in an operation that began last week, reports Reuters.
Since Dec. 28, Nigerien forces have been battling the terror group along the Komadugu River, which marks the border with Nigeria, the ministry said on Wednesday.
More than 200 were "neutralized" in airstrikes, with 87 killed by ground forces, said the ministry.
