27 Released From Makeshift Taliban Prison, Torture Alleged

NATO forces have freed 27 Afghan men from a makeshift Taliban prison in Helmand province, CNN reports.
The prisoners, who apparently had been tortured, were taken for medical assistance on Tuesday, NATO officials said.
Thirteen insurgents were killed when they refused to surrender to coalition forces, said officials.
The International Security Assistance Force said tips and intelligence led to the discovery of the compound near Musa Qaleh.
