In $26.2 Million Deal, Navy Orders 30-mm Cannons For Littoral Ships, Destroyers

The Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded General Dynamics Land Systems a contract for 30-mm cannon systems, reports the Sterling Heights, Mich.-based defense firm.
The $26.2 million deal covers Mk 46 Mod 2 30-mm weapon systems for littoral combat ships and Zumwalt-class destroyers.
The stabilized all-weather, day/night system can be used for a variety of anti-surface and anti-air defense missions, said a company release on Tuesday.
