26 Paramilitaries Slain In Maoist Ambush In Chhattisgarh

Maoist rebels ambushed a paramilitary patrol Tuesday in the Narayanpur district in the Bastar region of the eastern Chhattisgarh state, reports the Times of India.

A 70-man Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) patrol was attacked in the forests about 2.5 miles (4 km) from their base, officials said.

At least 26 CRPF personnel were killed and seven injured, reported the Press Trust of India.

About 90 Maoists were involved in the ambush, reported Asian News International.
