Less than a year after the unit stood up at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, the 24th Air Force has reached initial operating capability, the Air Force Times reports.
The 24th Air Force is designed as the cyber warfare arm of the U.S. Air Force. It was originally envisioned as a full major command in 2007, but those plans were suspended in summer 2008.
