A car bomb outside a Coptic Christian church in Alexandria, Egypt, on New Year's Day killed at least 21 people and wounded 79 more, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The attack took place just after midnight as worshipers were leaving a New Year's Mass at the Saints Church.
The bombing sparked clashes between police and Copts, who threw stones and stormed a nearby mosque. Police were forced to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.
