At least two U.S. troops have been killed in eastern Afghanistan, reports the New York Times.
The servicemembers were killed on Wednesday during a military operation, according to a statement from the U.S.-led Resolute Support mission.
A Taliban spokesman said that the troops were killed in an ambush by the militant group in Wardak province.
Nine U.S. personnel have been killed in Afghanistan so far this year.
