Two Italian aid workers who were taken hostage in Syria five months ago have returned home, reports NBC News.
The prime minister's office announced their release on Thursday. No other details were divulged at the time. They arrived in Italy on Friday after flying from Turkey, reported Reuters.
The two women, ages 20 and 21, were taken hostage in August while providing healthcare assistance in Aleppo in the north of Syria.
