The Dept. of Defense says two U.S. military personnel were killed and a third injured in eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday night, reports the Voice of America News.
The U.S. troops were conducting an anti-terrorist operation with Afghan security forces in Nangarhar province when they were attacked, said a military statement.
A local branch of ISIS, known as the Islamic State-Khorasan, or ISIS-K, has become a target of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, noted the Washington Post. ...
