Raytheon says its Small Tactical Munition (STM) made a direct hit on a target during its first guided flight test, reports the defense firm.
A Cobra unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) released the STM Phase II weapon in flight. The munition used GPS and inertial navigation, as well as semi-active laser guidance, to hit the target, said the company.
The company announced the results on Monday of the test in February at Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz.
