The initial flight took place this week of the first P-3 Orion to receive mid-life upgrades.
Lockheed Martin announced the test's success at its facility in Greenville, S.C.
Under the upgrade program, the aircraft's outer wings, center wing lower surface, horizontal stabilizer and horizontal stabilizer leading edges have been replaced.
This aircraft is part of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency's fleet.
