The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Bell-Boeing, Amarillo, Texas, a contract modification for tiltrotor aircraft for Japan, reports the Dept. of Defense.
Bell-Boeing is a strategic alliance between Bell Helicopter, a Textron company, and Boeing.
The US$322.5 million contract covers five MV-22 tiltrotor aircraft. This is the first export of the aircraft under the Foreign Military Sales program, noted a Boeing release.
