NATO and Afghan security forces have killed 17 Taliban militants during a lengthy shootout in Afghanistan's Helmand province, Deutsche Presse-Agentur reports.
An intelligence tip led to the joint operation on Saturday night in Deshu district, a provincial governor spokesman said. The fighting went on for 12 hours, reported Pakistan's Daily Times.
There were no casualties reported among the coalition forces.
