At least 17 civilians have been killed and 34 wounded in an attack in Ethiopia's northeastern Afar region, reports Borkena (Addis Ababa).
On Saturday, attackers opened fire on civilians in the Afambo district, a local official told the Voice of America's Amharic service.
The attackers used rocket launchers, machine guns and bombs.
A counterattack killed 10 of the attackers, said a district chief.
