A Libyan commander says at least 16 people have been killed in heavy fighting in the port city of Benghazi, reports Reuters.
Clashes began on Tuesday between Islamic State militants and government forces loyal to Gen. Khalifa Haftar, said a military commander on Wednesday.
Special operations troops captured an air defense base between the districts of Mash'hash and Sidi Faraj that was seized by ISIS last year, said the commander.
