The Iranian government has confirmed 15 deaths due to a coronavirus outbreak in Qom in northern Iran, reports the official Islamic Republic News Agency (Tehran).
Qom, about 85 miles (140 km) south of Tehran, is a pilgrimage site for many Shi'ite Muslims.
Pilgrims who traveled to Qom are believed to form the majority of those infected in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait and Lebanon.
