$140 Million Contract Modification Will Keep BACN Communications System Flying

The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman, San Diego, Calif., a contract modification for the Battlefield Airborne Communication Node (BACN) program, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The initial award was in June 2015.
The $140 million deal covers the BACN payload, operations and support, according to the Jan. 17 Pentagon release.
The BACN is integrated with U.S. E-11A and EQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft to improve battlefield communications.
