13 Die During U.S. Navy Rescue Attempt

At least 13 African refugees drowned Monday when an overloaded skiff adrift in the Gulf of Aden capsized during a U.S. Navy rescue attempt, the Navy Times reports.
The refugees were trying to travel from Somalia to Yemen when their engines broke down, said Navy officials.
A rigid-hull inflatable boat (RHIB) from the destroyer Winston S. Churchill was towing the disabled skiff back towards Somalia when the accident occurred, said officials.
