Police in Turkey rounded up about 120 Al-Qaida suspects in a series of nationwide raids on Friday morning, the BBC reports.
The coordinated pre-dawn raids took place in 16 provinces, according to the state Anatolian news agency.
A militant recruiter from the eastern city of Van was said to be among those arrested. According to Turkish media, another of those detained was believed to be the head of Al-Qaida in Turkey, Serdar Elbasa, who is known by the codename Abu Zer.
