Eleven Mexican soldiers were killed late last week when their helicopter crashed in bad weather in the northern Durango state, reports the Latin American Herald Tribune.
The troops were taking part in counter-drug and arms-trafficking missions in the region, according to the Mexican Defense Ministry.
The Bell 412 helicopter was traveling from Bdiraguato in the northwestern Sinaloa state to Durango when it crashed at night near San Miguel del Alto.
