101st Airborne Takes Over In Eastern Region

The U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division has assumed command of the NATO International Security Assistance Force's (ISAF) Regional Command-East (RC-E), ISAF reports.
A Monday ceremony at Bagram Airfield marked the official transition from Combined Joint Task Force-82 to Combined Joint Task Force-101, said military officials.
The new unit is now responsible for NATO operations in Afghanistan's 14 eastern provinces, officials said.
