The Canadian military is dispatching about 1,000 personnel to help fight wildfires in northern Saskatchewan, reports the Canadian Press.
The personnel were expected to begin arriving as soon as Sunday, said Duane McKay, the head of emergency management for the province.
"They will be completely self-contained and they will augment wildfire operations and so we'll see them on the fire line," McKay said on Sunday.
