A lieutenant colonel in the Syrian army has been killed by an explosion in the northern city of Aleppo, reports Now Lebanon.
The bombing on Thursday morning, which targeted a military bus, was carried out by an "armed terrorist group," reported the official SANA news agency.
Twenty-four other soldiers and civilians were reported wounded in the blast.
The attack came two hours after a nationwide cease-fire went into effect, noted state television.
