The government of Morocco has requested the upgrading of M1A1 Abrams tanks being acquired from the United States, reports the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
The potential US$1 billion deal, announced Monday by the agency, covers the enhancement and refurbishment of 200 Abrams tanks being provided by the U.S. as excess defense articles to the M1A1 special armor (SA) configuration.
