Active End Strength
Slovenia's Ministry of Defense ended conscription in September 2003 and has moved to an all-volunteer/professional force.
The Army consists of 7,250 active-duty soldiers and has 1,500 reserves. There are two brigades (the 1st and the 72nd), a combat service support command (with the 157th Logistics Battalion and a military medical unit), an intelligence/reconnaissance battalion (5th), a signal battalion (11th), a military police battalion (17th), and a Special Operations Unit.
