OVERVIEW

A small state with an area of 6,880 sq mi (17,800 sq km), Kuwait has an estimated 10 percent of the world's oil reserves by some reckonings; others put it at about 7 percent. As of October 2018, oil accounted for nearly half of the country's GDP and around 90 percent of government revenue, according to official U.S. estimates.
