The Jamaica Military Aviation School opened in December 2006 in Kingston. The school is a joint Jamaican-Canadian project, using new Canadian DA40 fixed-wing planes and helicopters.
The aviation school is one of four "centers for excellence" in Jamaica -- the others being a staff college, an engineer school and a maritime school.
