In September 2008, a ship bound for Kenya with a cargo from Ukraine of 33 T-72M1 tanks, six 122-mm BM-21 multiple rocket launchers, six 14.5-mm anti-aircraft guns and 36 rocket-propelled grenade launchers was hijacked by Somali pirates.
