Intelligence Official Killed In Al-Shabaab Bombing

A Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) official was killed in a militant bombing near the border with Kenya, reports the Shabelle Media Network (Mogadishu).

Col. Abdirahman Abdullahi Adan Bakaal and six other NISA personnel were killed when a bomb attached to his car exploded while he was leaving Luug town on the way to Dolow in the southern Gedo region.

Bakaal was the top NISA commander in Gedo and was known for working to secure the region against the Al-Shabaab terrorist group.

Al-Shabaab was suspected to be behind the attack.
