The French Armat anti-radar missile is the successor to the Franco-German developed AS 37 Martel. (The name Armat is derived from "anti-radiation Martel," subsequently "anti-radiation Matra." The Martel name is based on its guidance options -- missile, anti-radiation and television.) The Armat uses the same airframe as the Martel and an improved passive radar seeker and associated electronics. It is larger than other Western anti-radar missiles such as the British ALARM and U.S. HARM....
