Upgrades Coming For Rafale Marine Aircraft

The French Ministry of Defense has announced plans to modernize 10 Rafale Marine fighters.
The shipboard aircraft, which were delivered in the early 2000s, will be upgraded from the F1 to F3 configuration, said ministry officials.
The F1 Rafales were only qualified for air-to-air operations and for in-flight refueling.
The F3 upgrades will add ground attack, reconnaissance and nuclear strike capabilities, officials said.
No time schedule was announced, noted UPI.
