The Japanese government has announced that it will strengthen cargo inspections in an attempt to prevent items from being diverted to North Korea for military purposes, reports the Kyodo News Agency.
By the end of June, Tokyo will start targeting cargo ships from third countries that could enter North Korean ports, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida said on Sunday.
The measure is in line with sanctions implemented by the U.N. Security Council in March 2016, the minister said. ...
