Fighters loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad have driven back Sunni militants attempting to capture two Shi'ite villages in northern Syria, reports Reuters.
The Al-Qaida-affiliated Nusra Front and other Sunni militants attacked the villages of Zahra and Nubl, north of Aleppo, on Thursday night, according to a U.K.-based monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
