Three Russian helicopter crew members in Sudan were kidnapped for a day by militants near the town of Nyala, reports Interfax-AVN (Russia).
They were freed Monday night in Sudan's war-torn western region of Darfur, a Sudanese army spokesman said, as reported by Agence France-Presse.
They had been flying in an Mi-8 helicopter belonging to the Sudanese Badr Airlines to transport food and cargo for the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Darfur (UNAMID).
