The Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant in central Russia has begun producing a trial batch of upgraded trainer attack aircraft, reports Interfax-AVN.
The Russian Defense Ministry has ordered the Su-25UBM aircraft and is considering the procurement of production aircraft, according to Sukhoi officials.
Sukhoi originally designed the Su-25 ground-attack aircraft.
The Kremlin's arms-procurement plans call for continued production of the Su-25UBM at Ulan-Ude through 2020.
