China has told South Korea that it will not defend whoever was responsible for sinking a South Korean warship in March, the BBC reports.
Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, after meeting with South Korean leaders in Seoul, said Beijing "will not protect" whoever sank the Cheonan.
South Korea and a multinational team of investigators have blamed North Korea for the attack, which killed 46 sailors.
