Following a Wednesday attack on a U.N. building in Kabul that killed five employees, the United Nations has decided to beef up its security in Afghanistan, Reuters reports.
The U.N. is being attacked more often due to its support for the Afghan elections, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said.
Afghanistan and Pakistan have become the most dangerous places for the U.N.'s civilian staff, accounting for more than half of this year's 27 deaths, said Ban.
