President Pratibha Patil has urged India's Maoist rebels to give up violence and accept the government offer for peace talks, BNO News (Netherlands) reports.
"I would like to urge Naxalites and those involved in violent acts to shun violence, talk and think appropriately and get involved in the mainstream of the society to ensure progress for their own tribal population," Patil said Friday while addressing state legislators in Chhattisgarh.
