The Russian Ministry of Defense says the navy will hold drills in all its areas of responsibility through the end of February, reports the Tass news agency (Moscow).
On Thursday, the ministry said the service would train in waters near Russia as well as the open ocean, including the Mediterranean and northern seas, Sea of Okhotsk, northeastern Atlantic and the Pacific.
More than 140 ships, 60 aircraft, 1,000 pieces of military equipment and 10,000 troops would take part.
