As part of the Philippines military modernization effort, the government in Manila is seeking to entice foreign weapons firms to manufacture domestically, reports the Voice of America News.
There are plans to set up a defense economic zone, a tax-free locale where foreign companies can build more and better weapons for the Philippines armed forces, Jonathan Martir, the head of the government arsenal, said recently.
