France Defends Arms Airlift To Rebels

France has confirmed that the French military has been air dropping arms and ammunition to rebels in western Libya, Al Jazeera (Qatar) reports.
The aid included assault rifles, machine guns and rocket-propelled grenade launchers, said a spokesman for the French general staff.
Other reports indicated France had dropped Milan anti-tank rockets and light armored vehicles in the rebel-controlled areas of the Nafusa Mountains.
