Northrop Grumman's Euro Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), developed in cooperation with EADS Defense & Security, made its first flight this week, reports the Palmdale, Calif.-based defense firm.
The air vehicle on June 29 took off from Northrop's Palmdale facility and reached an altitude of 32,000 feet (9,800 m) before landing nearly two hours later at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.
