Diplomats Hope To Split Russia, Iran In Syrian War

Officials from the Obama administration as well as European and Arab allies hope to widen what is seen as a divide between the Russian and Iranian governments over support for the Assad regime in Syria, say diplomats cited by the Wall Street Journal.
The efforts are aimed at getting support from Russian President Vladimir Putin to limit the Syrian president's hold onto power.
