The Syrian government has cracked down on protesters in the northwest, killing at least 35 people, reports the Voice of America News.
Human-rights groups said clashes began Saturday and continued into Sunday when thousands of residents turned out for the funerals of slain anti-government protesters.
Six security personnel were killed in the towns of Jisr al-Shughour and nearby Khan Sheikhoun, said officials.
