The costs of U.S. military operations in Libya are expected be significantly higher than initially projected, reports the Financial Times (U.K.).
Defense Secretary Robert Gates last month said that the Pentagon expected to spend around $750 million in fiscal 2011 for the Libya mission.
However, a Pentagon memo acquired by the paper indicated that by mid-May operations had already cost $664 million, a figure confirmed by the DoD.
