North Korea is building military bunkers on a border island in the Yellow Sea that are a "grave threat" to South Korea, say South Korean defense officials, as cited by the Korea Herald.
The facilities on Gal Island, about 1.6 miles (2.5 km) north of the de facto maritime border, are expected to accommodate 122-mm multiple rocket launchers or guard posts to monitor the movements of South Korean marines and patrol ships, the Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
