African Union Won't Impose Peacekeeping Mission On Burundi

Leaders of the African Union have not been able to reach a consensus about setting up a peacekeeping mission in troubled Burundi, reports the Voice of America News.
African heads of state met for two days over the weekend in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They could not come to an agreement on an A.U. recommendation for a 5,000-man peacekeeping force to protect civilians in Burundi.
The Burundi government, which opposed the possible mission, welcomed the decision.
