Two Philippine soldiers have been injured in a militant ambush set in the southern part of the country, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Abu Sayyaf fighters ambushed an army convoy on Friday in Sulu province, said military officials.
The army ordered the militants to be pursued.
Separately on Friday, Abu Sayyaf militants fired on a squad of militiamen in the Basilan province, reported the Inquirer Mindanao.
