The Indian navy has decided to deploy two vessels to patrol near Seychelles and Mauritius to combat piracy, reports the Press Trust of India.
The amphibious ship Shardul and coast guard vessel Varuna had originally been in the area for training exercises.
India previously sent a Talwar-class guided-missile frigate on anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden.
