OVERVIEW

In March 2018, the Colombian air force was reorganized into three commands: aerial operations, force support and personnel. Within aerial operations, most units are dedicated to combat functions. There is also transport/utility and electronic intelligence capabilities. Air defense is a function of the army.

The air force is organized into:

7 Combat Air Commands (CACOM), with   7 combat groups,     7 combat squadrons     3 utility squadrons     4 ELINT squadrons     1 UAV...
